Reading a Gaming Commission licence number
What the register publishes, what it does not, and why four different numbers can all be a book’s real one.

What the register actually carries
The Gaming Commission of Ghana publishes a list of licensed operators. It carries the trading name, the operation type and the dates. On the evidence in this edition it does not carry the licence numbers themselves, which is the single most useful thing to know before trying to verify one.
Every licence number on this site therefore came from somewhere other than the register: an operator’s own footer, an app store listing, or an affiliate page. The first two are first-party and the third is not, and the records here distinguish them.
Why a book can have four numbers
Ghana issues an annual permit. A book trading for five years has five numbers, and the ones circulating on affiliate pages are frequently earlier years rather than errors. Two numbers that look contradictory are usually a current permit and a lapsed one, and the way to tell is the year encoded in the code itself.
A second and more useful pattern: a book holding two entries in the same year usually holds one for sports betting and one for online casino. The record stores the authority and the number and does not say which is which, so this almanac counts them and does not name them. Inferring the class from the count would be printing a guess as a fact.
When the register and the product disagree
Two books in this edition are listed for sports betting only and run a full casino anyway. That is a difference between the register’s scope and the product’s scope, and it is stated here as exactly that rather than as an allegation, because this publication holds no enforcement information of any kind and has no basis for one.
The reverse case also appears and is cleaner: one operator is listed for online casino only, its own platform configuration switches the sportsbook module off, and its sitemap carries no sports pages at all. Four independent signals agreeing is as settled as anything in this market gets.
